This week there will be another hearing in Superior Court regarding the issue of homeless camping on public land. The hearing is on Friday, June 14 at 1:30 pm at Merrimack County Superior Court, 163 N. Main Street, Concord. We plan to be in the courtroom to show support to Andrew, Frank and Vinnie. And then we’ll gather briefly outside afterward to discuss whatever occurs and to express our hope for real solutions.
There are also arraignments happening this week and next for those who were removed from private lands and cited for criminal trespassing. These hearings are Thursday, June 13 and Monday, June 17 at 8:15 am in District Court, 32 Clinton Street, Concord. These will be brief processes during which the individuals will be formally charged and have an opportunity to plead guilty or not guilty. A quiet show of support at these hearings will remind these individuals that we care about them and the consequences they are facing for having nowhere else to live.
I look forward to being with you, and I thank you for all you do to bring compassion and dignity to this community.
